Moderna gets permit for a mRNA plant in the UK Pin It

Moderna is allowed to build a new mRNA vaccine plant in the UK, to quickly develop candidate vaccines against viruses that cause respiratory problems in the event of a pandemic. The biotech company concluded an agreement in principle with the British government.

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with the UK government,” said Stephane Bancel, CEO of Moderna.

“We look forward to establishing our research and development activities and capabilities in this country.”

The UK government also purchased 60 million doses of the Corona vaccine from Moderna, including potentially candidate vaccines for booster vaccinations that will be delivered this year and next.
