The co-chairman of the American software company Oracle, Mark Hurd, passed away on Friday. The 62-year-old director resigned last month due to health reasons.
Hurd was an experienced manager. In the past, he was also CEO of tech giant Hewlett-Packard. He left there in 2010 after being accused of sexual harassment. He switched to Oracle, where he immediately got a top position. Later he got the shared leadership.
Exactly what Hurd died of, Oracle did not bring out. His duties at Oracle are currently being handled by co-chairman Safra Catz and founder, technology director and supervisory chairman Larry Ellison.
