Only official health organisations to have right to submit vaccination certificate apps, – Apple Pin It

Apple will only approve vaccination certificate apps if the developer collaborates with health organizations, the company reports on its website. These apps allow people to demonstrate whether they have been vaccinated against COVID-19. With this measure, Apple wants to ensure that the apps handle the sensitive data responsibly.

Apps that allow users to display Coronation test results are also covered by the new rules. In some countries, vaccinated or negatively tested residents have more freedoms. For example, they may enter more buildings or use additional services.

The apps use sensitive data from users, such as names, vaccination status and test results. That’s why Apple wants these apps to handle the data responsibly and be reliable.

Apple developers need to cooperate with health organisations such as coronatest kit manufacturers, labs or healthcare providers. Apple also approves apps from governments or medical institutions themselves.
