Heat treatment of pallets is necessary to prevent quarantine pests from entering UK Pin It

An additional heat chamber had already been set up at Lievaart in Holland. Because the extra demand for heat treatment for pallets had been seen by the Brexit.

Health mark indicating that the pallet has received heat treatment are necessary to cross the border. The heat treatment will soon be needed for trade on the UK. Only pallets and boxes with the label as proof of heat treatment will be included. Without that mark, there is a risk that a load may be refused at the border.

At Lievaart, they now run two sessions one day, according to sales manager Thom Olsthoorn. “1100 pallets are here and we have already made a stock.”

Heat treatment of solid wood pallets is needed to prevent foreign wood borers from entering the UK.
