Despite the strong prohibition of trade with the Russian Federation, some goods from Ukraine may be found in the retail stores of the country. Surprisingly, Russian pharmacies still sell Ukrainian medications made by PrJSC pharmaceutical company “Darnitsa” which is owned by Ukrainian Glib Zagoriy, an ex-MP and pharma tycoon. The company is behind up to 70 percent of Ukraine-made medicine sold in the county. It’s not an old stock. What is known about Glib Zagoriy, his company and connections? Glib Zagoriy and Russian connection: English subtitles included
The family of pharmaceutical Glib Zagoriy has connections in the government of the Russian Federation: the ex-MP will be checked by law enforcement agencies, journalists conclude.
Glib Zagoriy’s secret of survival
Ex-MP and owner of the pharmaceutical company “Darnitsa” Glib Zagoriy is involved in a number of high–profile cases, but always got away with it, because he has influential acquaintances – including in the Russian Federation.

Glib Zagoriy is considered a “shadow curator” of the pharmaceutical industry of the ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko era. Numerous scandals in the media did not seem to interfere with his impeccable reputation as a businessman. Thanks to whom and what does the owner of PrJSC Pharmaceutical company “Darnitsa” and ex-MP Glib Zagoriy have a kind of “immunity” from problems with the law? And what does the Russian Federation have to do with it? Journalist Artem Polikovsky found out.
Glib Zagoriy – Valentina Matvienko connection: has it really gone cold?
“The connection with the aggressor country today is a red marker of any businessman’s activity. As it turned out, Zagoriy’s family is close friends with the deputy head of the government of the Russian Federation – Valentina Matvienko,” the investigator says.
Many media outlets reported about such friendly relations at the time, and even Zagoriy himself confirmed them.
“Valentina Matvienko was my mother’s classmate at the Leningrad Institute of Chemical Technology,” he said in an interview. However, he added that he himself is familiar with the Russian official, but does not communicate now.
The editorial board of “Stopkor” turned to the company “Darnitsa” with a request to personally communicate with Mr. Zagoriy. And there was even an interview arrangement. However, on the day of the planned interview, the press service of the pharmaceutical company cancelled the meeting. And the request by e-mail in “Darnitsa” was not answered.

In addition, reporters appealed to law enforcement agencies with a request to additionally check the activities of the person involved in the journalistic investigation and added all the evidence found.
“Darnitsa” pharmaceutical company and its owner Glib Zagoriy are suspected of a number of dubious connections, but the ex-MP gets away with it every time – it is assumed that the “service” provided by Lutsenko [ex-GP of Ukraine] and Petro Poroshenko at the time helped to suppress any consequences.

During his time as a MP, Glib Zagoriy was spotted in the scandal with the detention of Nasirov and sensationally claimed the post of Minister of Ecology [country’s environmental protection regulator body].
So far Glib Zagoriy survived any attempts to dethrone his monopoly in Ukraine. But the times are changing and the ongoing war may bring him down. What is good for the peace times may be viewed as a treason at the times of war.
