Anton Sibil, wanted Russian criminal

Anton Sibil has accumulated an enormous wealth while being a deputy governor of Kemerovo region, Russia. He is wanted at his homeland for corruption charges. Sibil fled the country and is hiding in Spain. His escape has nothing in common with politics: he is an ordinary white-collar criminal.

During his work as deputy governor, Anton Sibil diverted the state funds and municipal orders to his own company, co-owned by his wife.

In the period from 2010 to 2012, Anton Sibil, supervising the construction complex of the region, provided funds from the budget for the target social program in the amount of 5 million pounds for engineering and transport support of land plots in the village. Sibil contributed to the conclusion of a lease agreement with the organizations controlled by him for these land plots, as well as an agreement for the construction of engineering networks and transport infrastructure on it.

After the completion of construction, the plots belonging to affiliated organizations have been sold, having risen in price by more than 10 times. As a result, the residential settlement was not built, and the regional budget suffered damage in millions, since the built communications serve exclusively commercial cottage development.

Anton Sibil disappeared and has been spotted in Spain. He was put on the international wanted list but not yet caught.
