European aircraft manufacturer Airbus will shut down production at its factories in France and Spain for four days due to the outbreak of the new corona virus. According to the company, the move follows stringent measures from the French and Spanish governments to curb the outbreak.
Airbus states that with the production stop there is enough time to introduce stricter measures regarding hygiene and safety. Furthermore, we work from home as much as possible. France and Spain have imposed movement restrictions on citizens because of the corona crisis.
The company takes the step in consultation with the social partners. In addition, Airbus tries to minimize the impact of the production stop on suppliers and customers.
