Tesco is about to get rid of cashiers after successful ‘Express store’ trial Pin It

Tesco plans to introduce its first checkout-free store after a successful trial. Like Amazon, the supermarket giant wants to completely abolish the use of cash registers. In the plans, customers scan items with their phones, after which the payment of the messages is processed automatically when they leave the store. For a year, the concept will be tested in the Tesco Express store at the headquarters of Welwyn Garden City.

Of course it will put pressure on job market but it is definitively a win for Tesco: no more trade union, strikes and so on.
