Renault closed all factories outside China and South Korea Pin It

The French car maker has closed all its factories, except those in China and South Korea, in connection with the outbreak of the new corona virus. Production will only resume “once conditions permit”, the company reports.

Renault previously reported that it should have temporarily closed its production sites in Europe. This now also applies to factories elsewhere in the world. In fact, production is starting up again in China and South Korea. There the outbreak of the new coronavirus is now under control.

Many other car manufacturers have also had to temporarily shut down factories on a large scale. Volkswagen, Toyota, BMW and PSA (Peugeot, Citroën and Opel), among others, have announced production stops in countries affected by the corona pandemic in recent weeks.
