Credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P) lowers the outlook for the creditworthiness of steel company ArcelorMittal to negative, from stable.
S&P keeps the credit rating of ArcelorMittal at BBB-. With the lowering of the outlook, S&P indicates that a write-down may occur within one to two years if the markets continue to develop negatively or if ArcelorMittal is delayed in the disposal of parts.
According to data from Bloomberg, ArcelorMittal has a total of 9.8 billion euros in loans and bonds outstanding.
