The government plan to issue gift cards for retail and restaurants for citizens Pin It

The economy demands some bold experiments to be revived. The government is ready to go as far as giving away free gift cards.

The UK government is considering handing out gift cards to encourage people to spend money in the sectors most severely affected by the quarantine. There is a plan to issue vouchers worth 500 pounds to spend in, for example, the catering industry or retail.

Finance Minister Rishi Sunak will launch the stimulus plan within a few days, according to the source. It will not be possible to purchase items on the internet with the gift vouchers. The money must be spent for the relevant items and services only.
