The countrywide diet: government weights ban on promotion of ‘unhealthy’ foods Pin It

The government has a bold plan for this country. We all will go a diet to meet ‘the next health crisis’ in hunky shape. It’s kind of worrying that PM is sure that the crisis is inevitable. Anyway, all the plan consist of preventing you to get a free pizza. That’s our way to the healthy future.

The British government is working on legislation to curb the sale of unhealthy foods through certain advertisement offers. There will be a specific list of products that can no longer be sold in, for example, two for the price of one offer. In addition, there would also be a ban on the sale of chocolate and sweets at supermarket checkouts. The plans are due to be presented this month.

The measures are part of a broader set of regulations to tackle the obesity epidemic in the UK. Prime Minister Boris Johnson would also consider making it mandatory for restaurants and takeaways, according to the newspaper, to state how many calories a dish has on the menu.

According to the latest figures from the British government, almost one in three British adults is much overweight. This puts the country worldwide in the leading group of countries with the largest obesity problem. Last month, Johnson indicated during a speech that he wanted to tackle obesity. In this way, the United Kingdom must be better prepared for the next health crisis. Johnson himself said he wanted to lose weight at the beginning of this year.
