Starbucks prepares to close one thousand branches in UK, fire 4000 employees Pin It

Starbucks is exploring the possibility of divesting its stores in the United Kingdom. The eventual sale will involve more than a thousand branches and four thousand employees.

This is reported by the British news media The Times on the basis of internal communications. In the country, Starbucks would feel the hot breath of competing formulas. The multinational would therefore investigate the possibilities of selling all locations to a US investment bank (Houlihan Lokey Inc), according to the internal reports. There is no “formal sales process” yet.

In addition to competing concepts in the UK, Starbucks is facing disappointing international growth. The reason is the strict package of Corona measures in China.
