More than 100,000 new cases of COVID reported, mortality rate lags behind Pin It

For the first time, more than 100,000 new COVID-19 infections have been identified in the UK in 24 hours. More precisely, 106,122 new cases were reported on Wednesday, based on the latest government data.

That’s more than last Friday’s record. There were over 93,000 new cases. Tuesday was over 90,000.

In the United Kingdom, the new Omicron variant is rapidly spreading. However, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Tuesday that the British could continue with their plans for Christmas, after numerous speculations that the UK might go into lockdown. He did call for caution.
