Vietnam police have arrested eight people who were allegedly involved in the death of 39 migrants in a truck in Grays, UK.
“Based on statements from the suspects, we are actively working to combat and exterminate the gangs of people illegally bringing to Britain,” said a Vietnamese police chief.
On Friday it was announced that two suspects had already been arrested in Vietnam.
The truck in question made the crossing to England via the Belgian coast. The victims, according to the police in Essex 38 adults and a teenager from Vietnam, were locked up for at least ten hours at a temperature of minus 25 degrees.
The driver of the truck, a 25-year-old Northern Irishman, was immediately arrested and a 23-year-old countryman who presumably brought the trailer to Zeebrugge is detained. The police are also looking for two brothers from Northern Ireland. Furthermore, various people are heard about the drama.
A Vietnamese delegation has left for Great Britain to meet with the authorities.
