Amazon will soon be the largest fashion retailer in the UK

Amazon will soon be the largest fashion retailer in the UK Pin It

Amazon is one of the largest online fashion retailers in the UK. But only when it comes to men’s clothing.

According to figures from GlobalData, Amazon has a market share of 4.8 percent, the number 1 is still Asos with 6.6 percent market share. But Amazon grew by 20 percent last year and could easily beat Asos at this pace.

However, it is mainly men who know how to find Amazon. The American retailer has a market share of 13.8 percent in the online men’s fashion market in the UK. The percentage for women is 4.1 percent. The difference is easy to explain: Men usually search in a more targeted way than women, and Amazon is not an inspiration platform.

Another important British player is still Boohoo, owner of PrettyLittleThing. Unlike Amazon, this company mainly uses influencers and focuses on young people via Instagram.

GlobalData predicts that nearly half of all clothing and shoes will be sold online by 2024.
