Finnish Rovio Entertainment, the creator of the ten-year-old mobile game Angry Birds, has seen profits fall in the second quarter. That was partly because the company had to spend money for the further development of its 5G game platform Hatch.
Rovio, which went public on the stock exchange last year, saw its operating result fall by more than 11 percent to 5.3 million euros compared to a year earlier. Turnover remained virtually stable at 71.8 million euros. This week Rovio is launching the movie “The Angry Birds Movie 2”. The company hopes to cash the results of the new film later in the year.
