Spain lost 90 percent of the inbound tourism Pin It

The COVID-19 crisis keeps tourists away from Spain en masse. In November, the tourist stream dried up by 90 percent compared to a year earlier. This was after the authorities in Spain announced additional travel restrictions to contain the further spread of the coronavirus.

In the first 11 months of 2020, some 19 million foreign tourists visited Spain. According to the Spanish statistical office INE, this represents a fall of 78% on an annual basis.

Tourist spending in Spain fell 91% in November compared to the same month a year earlier.
