Next round of the Trade War is starting today

1st September 2019

Next round of the Trade War is starting today Pin It

The trade war between the US and China starts the next round on Sunday. Then a new American import tax will come into effect on products such as televisions, books and diapers. It is the first time that consumer products have been affected by the measure. Chinese exporters have to pay 15 percent more, which in America will lead to higher prices.

Shoes will become considerably more expensive this week, warned a dome of shoe sellers. An average pair can go from 150 to 190 dollars. 70 percent of all shoes in the US are imported from China.

In mid-December, President Donald Trump wants to extend the scheme further to smartphones, laptops and clothing from China. Until now, only industrial imported goods have been charged with a tax. Trump wants to force China into a trade agreement with the rates.
