Hundreds of people have besieged a police station in Hong Kong. Police fired tear gas in the Sham Shui Po district to disperse the crowd, reports the local South China Morning Post newspaper.
The 300 or so demonstrators demanded the release of a man who had been arrested near the police station. He had ten laser pens with him, according to the police. Such devices have been used to blind agents during recent protests. As a result, the police also claimed injured.
Protesters outside the police station shone in with lasers and allegedly caused vandalism. The newspaper writes that agents put several protesters against the ground.
The arrested man was not in the police station. He was transferred to a hospital because he wasn’t feeling well.
