Confidence among Dutch private investors has dropped to the lowest level since July 2016. For the first time in years, more investors saw the value of their investment portfolio fall in the past months.
Investors, according to ING, who assess the trust every month, are also more negative about the economic situation in recent months. ING’s Investment Barometer fell to a 122 point position in November, from 132 a month earlier.
Investors are reasonably positive about the future. Half expect the value of their portfolio to increase. For the coming year, they have few changes. By the end of 2019, the important AEX index of the Amsterdam stock exchange will, according to them, be in the same position as now.
