Confidence in the eurozone economy has risen slightly in May compared to a month earlier. The European Commission reported this. Within the industry, for the first time in more than a year there was increasing confidence.
The index with which the committee measures confidence went from an adjusted 103.9 in April to 105.1 this month. Economists generally calculated at a level of 104.
Confidence rose slightly both among consumers and in the service sector. Confidence in the retail trade remained virtually the same as a month earlier. Confidence fell in the construction sector. The Committee speaks in terms of the construction of the largest fall in three years.
