Confidence in the eurozone economy fell again in April, European Commission reported. The index with which the committee measures confidence went from an adjusted 105.6 in March to 104.0 this month. That is the lowest position since September 2016. Economists had predicted an average position of 105.0.
According to the committee there was a decline in confidence in industry, retail trade and to a lesser extent in construction and among consumers. In the service sector, confidence was virtually the same.
