Aeroflot demands safety warrant from Boeing

Aeroflot demands safety warrant from Boeing Pin It

The Russian airline Aeroflot wants to cancel its order of twenty Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, unless the American aircraft maker guarantees the safety of the aircraft. That is what Vitali Savelyev from Aeroflot said.

The new planes would be delivered to the Russians in November. The order is intended for Pobeda, the budget airline branch of Aeroflot.

If there is no 100 percent guarantee that the aircraft is safe, nobody will buy it. The delivery of the ordered jets is as near as November. If Boeing does not solve their safety problem by that time, we will order another aircraft.

The Russian government suggested that Pobeda could use Russian-made aircraft in the future. However as for now there is no stable production of the aircraft of comparable classes.
