TSMC profits propelled by high demand Pin It

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) chip manufacturer increased its turnover by a quarter in August compared to a month earlier, to more than 106 billion Taiwanese dollars, equivalent to 3.1 billion euros.

Sales increased by 16.5 percent compared to a year earlier. In the first eight months of this year, a turnover of 650.6 billion Taiwanese dollars was achieved. That is an increase of 0.6 percent compared to the same period in 2018.

TSMC is one of the world’s largest producers of smartphone chips for companies such as Apple, Samsung and Huawei and is an important customer of the Dutch chip machine manufacturer ASML.
