The British cyber security company Sophos Group has received a takeover bid of 3.8 billion dollars from the American investor Thoma Bravo. The management of Sophos supports the acquisition.
The offer amounts to 583 pence per share in cash, which is a premium of over 37 percent on Sophos’ closing price on Friday. It would be one of the largest acquisitions in the British technology sector in recent years. Sophos is active worldwide with its digital security services.
In a statement, Sophos states that Thoma Bravo has extensive knowledge of cyber security with a good track record when it comes to investments and acquisitions. The investment company has recently made several acquisitions.
