Moderna to supply the United Kingdom with up to one billion doses Pin It

Moderna will deliver its potential Coronavirus vaccine to the United Kingdom from March 2021, subject to approval by UK regulations. This was reported by the American biotech company on Tuesday.

Moderna, which announced positive results on Monday about the effectiveness of the vaccine candidate, concluded this agreement with the British government.

The medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) in the United Kingdom started an accelerated evaluation of the potential COVID-19 vaccine at the end of October.

In the meantime, such an ongoing investigation has also been initiated by the European Medicines Agency (EEA). According to Moderna, the vaccine under development is more than 94% effective.

The company is currently expanding production to deliver 500 million doses a year in 2021 and possibly 1 billion doses a year.
