Lloyd’s of London made considerably more profit in the first half of the year than in the same period last year. The more than 300-year-old insurance marketplace cut down on less-performing activities and also benefited from the strong bond market.
The gross profit amounted to 2.3 billion. That was £ 588 million in the first half of the year in 2018. Then Lloyd’s of London ended the year in the red, just like a year earlier.
The insurance exchange already made preparations for the Brexit before. For example, a subsidiary in Brussels was set up.
