Global steel production has increased

Global steel production has increased Pin It

China, by far the largest steel producer country in the world, accounted for 71 million tonnes. That is an increase of more than 9 percent compared to February 2018. The United States increased production by 4.6 percent to 6.9 million tonnes.

In India there was an increase of 2.3 percent to 8.7 million tonnes of steel. Once again there was a sharp contraction in Turkey. This time with 12.5 percent on an annual basis. Less steel was also produced in Japan and the European Union than a year earlier.
