Black Friday blessed the Business like never before

25th November 2018

Black Friday blessed the Business like never before Pin It

Black Friday is once again breaking online records in the US, predicts Adobe Analytics. Online sales during Thanksgiving alone were 28 percent higher this year, with at least $ 1 billion in purchases made via smartphones. The total turnover that day amounted to probably $ 3.7 billion.

In the morning of Friday, November 23, 643 million dollars had already been converted, also 28 percent higher than last year. Adobe expects sales to reach $ 6.4 billion this year, not least because consumers spend more this year per order. Free delivery also played a role in the sales increase. Adobe bases its own measurements on 1 trillion visits to retail sites.

Big winner is Amazon again, which accounts for 29 percent of sales up to Cyber Monday. In the first nine hours on Black Friday, 1 million pieces of toys and 700,000 items of clothing were ordered from the retailer. Amazon, too, takes into account significantly higher sales.

It is expected that the five consecutive days – from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday – will generate $ 21.6 billion in online spending, compared to 18.7 billion in 2017.

The day before Thanksgiving was also good for 2.4 billion dollars in sales. In addition, 68 percent of all visitor traffic from mobile devices, Salesforce has calculated. Retailers sent 26 percent more promomails than last year.

Online sales did not go without problems for some retailers. On Thanksgiving, the Walmart site was not able to handle the crowds, and Gap could not help all customers.
