Craneware announces ‘record sales’ year

Livingston-based hospital software firm, Craneware, yesterday hailed a “record sales year”, with the total value of its contracts expected to hit $54 million (£35m).

Its main product allows hospitals to track patients and make sure they are billed for the correct amount. The increase in sales is down to the high demand in the United States and as a result of this, turnover also rose on the back of the announcement that further products will be launched.

Chief executive Keith Neilson said: “The on-going healthcare reforms in the US have increased the need for our financial performance and risk mitigation solutions and we have continued to execute on our strategy.”

The firm said that most of the revenue will be recognised in the years ahead. Craneware is due to publish its results for the year to 30 June on 6 September.
