Production in the UK industry increased by 0.6 percent in February compared to a month earlier. The British National Statistical Office reported the data.
The increase in industrial production was stronger than expected, because economists generally predicted that there would be a plus of 0.1 percent. In January, production increased by a revised 0.7 percent on a monthly basis.
The statistics office also reported that the British economy grew by 0.2 percent on a monthly basis in February, while the average for this was expected to remain unchanged. A 0.5 percent growth was seen in January.
