Industrial activity in the United Kingdom increased in April. This was shown on Tuesday by figures from Markit Economics.
The industry index rose from 58.9 in March to 60.9 in April, the highest point since July 1994. A provisional figure for April indicated an index of 60.7. An index position greater than 50 indicates growth, while less than 50 means contraction.
