The expansion of London’s Heathrow airport, the busiest (and according some feedback – one of the worst) airport in Europe, is another step closer. The British Supreme Court rejected a series of charges made by environmental organizations and local residents who are against the construction of a third runway.
Heathrow is struggling with large capacity problems. They must be tackled with a third runway. The expansion received the support of the British Parliament last year. The construction of the track involves an amount of approximately 16 billion euros.
The complainants are concerned about issues such as noise, air quality and night flights. The issue has been going on for many years.
