Authorities are considering paying £500 as a welcome bonus for positive COVID test

Authorities are considering paying £500 as a welcome bonus for positive COVID test Pin It

The authorities are considering paying people if they test positive for the coronavirus. It would amount to £ 500. For example, citizens in England should be encouraged to get tested if they have any complaints.

British research shows that many people with symptoms are not tested. Low-income people in particular would fear the financial consequences of self-isolation. They won’t be able to go to work. Some minima can already claim additional financial support if they have to be in isolation, but now consideration is being given to paying anyone with a positive test result £ 500.

The plan is described as ‘Cash for COVID’. It could cost the British Treasury about £ 2 billion a month.
