Paint group AkzoNobel has sold its former paint factory and research facility in the United Kingdom. Production at the Wexham Road site in Slough has stopped since 2016.
Akzo then moved the production to a newer factory in Ashington. AkzoNobel rented the paint research and development facilities on Wexham Road to another company for a while. The sale raised a total of 75 million euros, with a one-off book profit of 57 million euros. This is put in the books in the second quarter.
The AkzoNobel headquarters in the United Kingdom and other facilities such as the Dulux Academy, located west of Wexham Road, are not part of the sale.
